Large space IPv4 trial usage program

This presentation outlined the status of the �Time Limited?project which was proposed at the previous APNIC Open Policy Meeting. The project aims to trial the use of large, time-limited IPv4 allocations from the historically-allocated Net43 as a way of encouraging migration to IPv6 by 2005.

Note, this presentation was originally scheduled for the IPv6 Address policy SIG.

Questions and discussion

It was noted that the community will rely on regular reports relating to this project.

It was clarified that address space returned under the operation of this trial will be returned to APNIC. It was stressed that this should remain an important condition of the trial.

It was noted that a web site relating to this project is being developed.
