______________________________________________________________________ DRAFT TRANSCRIPT Session: APNIC Member Meeting Date: Friday 3 March 2006 Time: 2.00pm Presentation: APNIC interactive CD Presenter: Nurani Nimpuno ______________________________________________________________________ PAUL WILSON: We've also got in the time available the chance to have a look at one of the APNIC multimedia productions which is this, the APNIC Interactive CD which is just an easy means for us to distribute information about APNIC from the Secretariat. There's quite a lot of stuff, including video and multimedia content, documents and training materials and all the rest. Those are being made available at this meeting. So you can play with them yourself but we'll just show you before it becomes a tea coaster, I'll show you what's on there. It might tempt you to have a good look. This is another one of these productions that has been created by in-house staff at APNIC, including the soundtrack by an award-winning musician we have on staff who is not in Perth. It's a pretty good production with creative content. NURANI NIMPONO: This is something to just make some of the information, we have a little bit more accessible to people. By providing it on a CD, a lot of people from some countries have difficulties downloading the big, very heavy content that we have. We made that on CD and the idea is that we're trying to make this CD more and more interactive. This is the first version but we're very interested in people's feedback. We want to turn it into a multimedia CD that helps people access our information. This is a flash. It has a little flash introduction. This very funky music was produced by our rock star Chris Buckridge, who is our technical officer. If we click on the tech corner, we'll find a beautiful photo of Darrin and Terry. Once you're past that, it's just a HTML interface. You can browse through the CD and all these are colour coded to help people navigate through what's essentially a website. We have information about the meetings. For example, about the SIG chairs. An introduction to all of the SIG chairs. We also have, for example, it's still a little bit big, isn't it? OK. So we've put all of our flash animations and our little video clips. We have a little meeting documentary and also a special one that are targeting potential sponsors so we can give this to sponsors who might be interested in the meetings and all the various flash presentations. I won't show you all of the flash presentations now but I thought I might show you a greeting from the APNIC staff. (CD PLAYS ON SLIDES) NURANI NIMPONO: We're trying to make it a bit more interesting. We're very interested in people's feedback on this. So that is some of the examples. We also put in some highlights, for example, of last meeting. Randy's presentation was a highlight. The Internet governance panel and also the policy SIG report so people can get an idea of how policies are created. I won't show you anymore because I'd like you to all explore this and let me know what you think of it. PAUL WILSON: Thanks very much. Nurani was the coordinator of the project that put together that CD. Thank you. Great job. APPLAUSE And that does bring us to the coffee break. So we'll be having a coffee break now until 4pm. We'll come back, draw the prize. We'll have one more presentation about Internet governance and related matters. The EC election result. Some more time for open microphone and that will bring us to the end of the day. Thanks.
