______________________________________________________________________ DRAFT TRANSCRIPT Session: APNIC Member Meeting Date: Friday 3 March 2006 Time: 2.00pm Presentation: Database SIG report Presenter: Xing Li ______________________________________________________________________ PAUL WILSON: OK. We'll move on with the reports from the SIGs and BoFs that were held during the week. Xing Li is up first with the Database SIG. The rest of the reports are coming in the order here - DNS Ops after that, IPv6, NIR, Policy, IX and Routing in that order, plus some room for any other reports that might come from, for instance, some of the BoF sessions. So we'll start with Database. XING LI: OK. Good afternoon. This is a brief report. Previous open items - none. And there were four presentations. The first one is the housekeeping one and there is a proposal sent out in APNIC SIG 19 but the proposal never showed up so it's still pending. And the second one is an alternative view of the resource certification model, informative, which is actually different view from the panel's of the PKI structure, quite interesting. And also an overview of the effects of privacy laws in Japan, whois registration. And the last one is the outline of recent changes to the RIPE whois database. They are discussions and you can find in the homepage. There is one action item. It's the one for that pending proposal. As the chair, I will send to the mailing list and ask if there are any comments. If one month, if there is no feedback, we will close this pending proposal and, if the others want, they can resend the proposal. And observations for the Database SIG. There are no policy proposals in the previous two SIG meetings. So we encourage people to participate. And we hope we can still run this SIG. Second, that the mailing list is quiet. And the third is actually there are new ideas, which combined with the certificate process and that may be the right direction. Thank you very much. Any questions? (None) Thank you. APPLAUSE
