NRO Number Council election

Engr. Md. Hakikur Rahman, PhD has been the National Project Coordinator of the Sustainable Development Networking Programme (SDNP), a global initiative of UNDP in Bangladesh, since December 1999. He is also acting as the Secretary of the South Asia Foundation Bangladesh Chapter.

Before joining SDNP he worked as the Director, Computer Division, Bangladesh Open University. Besides other activities he has written several books on computer education for the informal sector and distance education. He is the Founder-Chairperson of the Bangladesh Chapter of the Internet Society, Editor of the Monthly Computer Bichitra, Founder-Principal and Member Secretary of ICMS Computer College, Head Examiner (Computer) of the Bangladesh Technical Education Board, Executive Director, BAERIN (Bangladesh Advanced Education Research and Information Network) Foundation, and is involved in activities related to establishment of an ICT based distance education university in Bangladesh.

I would like Dr. Hakikur Rahman to take on a challenging task for the Internet community as he has been dealing with it for more than seven years.
