 Statement

Harishankar Gupta is working with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited(BSNL) as Director, Data Networks. He has been working with BSNL for the last 8 years.Prior to that he worked as a Lecturer in an Engineering College for 2 years.

He played an important role in the installation of Inet,India's largest X.25 network. Subsequently he has been associated with the planning, implementation and operations of India's National Internet Backbone(NIB).He has been dealing with APNIC for various Internet resources and has got wide experience in IP Addressing and Domain Name Management related issues. He is well conversant with all the APNIC policies relating to IPv4, IPv6, AS Number etc.

It would be in the interest of Asia Pacific Community to have a person like him in the APNIC Executive Council.

It would be my endeavour to work towards the growth of Internet and responsible management of Internet resources.
