APNIC at APEC TEL 39
APNIC will be attending the APEC Telecommunications and Information Working Group (TEL) 39 next week in Singapore from 13 to 18 April 2009 as part of its liaison and representative activites.
In response to the 2009 APNIC Member and Stakeholder survey indicating that APNIC should represent the Asia Pacific community in forums such as these, Miwa Fujii, the IPv6 Program Manager, will be a guest at this event.
APNIC sees this as in important opportunity to:
- Establish communication links with participants from regulatory bodies in the Asia Pacifc region
- Understand their specific needs
- Build understanding on issues surrounding IPv4 exhaustion and IPv6 deployment with these important stakeholders
The APEC Telecommunications and Information Working Group (TEL) aims to improve telecommunications and information infrastructure in the Asia Pacific region by developing and implementing appropriate telecommunications and information policies, including relevant human resource and development cooperation strategies.
