ISIF grant program invites applicants

The Information Society Innovation Fund (ISIF) is accepting applications for the 2009/2010 round of grant funding.

The Information Society Innovation Fund (ISIF) is accepting applications for the 2009/2010 round of grant funding.

The program provides grants of up to AUD 40,000 per project to help advance local and regional initiatives that introduce, improve, and apply innovative Internet and communication technologies in the Asia Pacific region. The project partners hope to fund eight to ten projects for the 2009/2010 round of funding.

Karen Rose, ISOC Director of Education and Programmes, confirmed the success of the inaugural year of the program and "strongly encourages new applicants to submit proposals for ISIF funding". She also encouraged unsuccessful 2008 applicants to put forward revised submissions for the current round of funding.

The 2009/10 program is also an oppotunity for "some 2010 grant applications to feature projects that assist the adoption of IPv6 in the region" says Paul Wilson, Director General of APNIC.

Applications for the 2010 grants round close on 31 July 2009. Grants will be made on a competitive basis and successful applicants will be required to make project details, outcomes, and findings publicly available.

Complete information on the project and how to apply is available on the ISIF website at http://www.isif.asia.
