New APNIC Non-Member Fee Schedule from 2011

In March 2010, the APNIC Executive Council (EC) decided to implement a new Non-Member fee schedule, effective as of 1 January 2011.

In March 2010, the APNIC Executive Council (EC) decided to implement a new Non-Member fee schedule, effective as of 1 January 2011. The motivation for this revision to the Non-Member fee schedule is to align APNIC Non-Member fees with Member fees, with an additional 15% premium for Non-Members.

The rationale for this premium is to cover APNIC's long-term marginal taxation liability associated with this Non-Member fees stream. The premium also provides a financial incentive for entities to become Members of APNIC. The membership structure is a major component of the framework of APNIC's mutuality status for taxation purposes and the EC believes that there is a compelling rationale to provide financial incentives for entities to join as Members of APNIC.

The new schedule will take effect from 1 January 2011. For those entities who have already executed a Non-Member services agreement with APNIC, the new fee schedule will be applied on the renewal of the services agreement (on or after 1 January 2011) and existing fee structure provisions will remain in effect until that time.
