IN-ADDR.ARPA zone transfer complete

APNIC is now one of six organizations serving the IN-ADDR.ARPA zone, with the other RIRs and IANA.

Today APNIC, along with the other RIRs, completed the transition of the technical management function for the IN-ADDR.ARPA zone from each RIR to ICANN.

Immediately upon transfer to ICANN, the IN-ADDR.ARPA zone was signed using DNS Security Extensions (DNSSEC), providing end-users with the ability to validate answers to reverse DNS queries.

The IN-ADDR.ARPA zone was also migrated from twelve root servers to dedicated nameservers operated by the five RIRs and one operated by ICANN.

APNIC's services are being operated out of both Hong Kong and Japan, and is available over both IPv4 and IPv6.
