Geoff Huston inducted to Internet Hall of Fame

Congratulations to APNIC Chief Scientist Geoff Huston, on his recent induction to the ISOC Internet Hall of Fame!

APNIC congratulates Chief Scientist Geoff Huston on his recent induction to the Internet Society (ISOC) Hall of Fame.

APNIC Director General Paul Wilson acknowledged Geoff's critical role in bringing the Internet to Australia, initially by establishing the first national online research network.

"Geoff has been an outstanding leader and contributor to APNIC over many years, both as a founding and long-standing member of the Executive Council, and then in the Secretariat position as Chief Scientist," Paul said.

Geoff has contributed significantly to the development of the Internet in Australia and globally, through his founding work on the Australian Academic Research Network (AARNet) and long history of prolific activity within the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF).

Geoff certainly deserves this honour, and we all congratulate him on this recognition.
