APNIC returns IPv4 legacy addresses to IANA
APNIC has returned legacy IPv4 address space to IANA.
Following the recently implemented Global Policy for Post Exhaustion IPv4 Allocation Mechanisms, APNIC has returned some unused legacy IPv4 addresses to the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA).
The total returned size is 35 /16s and 72 /24s. These legacy addresses were returned voluntarily to APNIC by organizations in the Asia Pacific region.
ARIN and the RIPE NCC have also made returns to IANA. ARIN has returned about a /8 and the RIPE NCC, about 20 /16s.
All the returned legacy IPv4 addresses will become available for future allocation according to the global policy.
