This week, APNIC Training Manager Champika Wijayatunga will participate in the 2013 Cyber Security Week in Colombo, Sri Lanka. During the week, Champika will deliver a  Law Enforcement Agency (LEA) workshop, in collaboration with the Sri Lanka CERT, as part of an ongoing effort to support and collaborate with LEAs in the Asia Pacific region. His presentation will focus on the services APNIC provides to LEAs; in particular, the use of publicly available data on the APNIC Whois Database.

APNIC has a fundamental role to play in the stability and security of the Internet, ensuring the APNIC Whois Database and reverse DNS zone delegations are accurate, reliable, and up-to-date. As the Asia Pacific Regional Internet Registry, APNIC adopts and applies policies that address network abuse, and actively raises awareness about the need for responsible network management in the region through training and outreach.

Champika will also lead a hands-on Network Security workshop during the week, focusing on routing and DNS Security.
