Event Wrap: 5th APT Cybersecurity Forum

APNIC participated at the 5th APT Cybersecurity Forum in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia from 26-28 May 2014. Organized by the Asia Pacific Telecommunity (APT) and hosted by Mongolia's Information Technology Post and Telecommunications Authority (ITPTA), this forum brought together law enforcement professionals, government agencies, and members of the technical community to share their knowledge and expertise in combating cybercrime.

The event was attended by delegates from 19 APT member economies, in addition to about 80 local attendees.

APNIC's participation 

  • Security Specialist, Adli Wahid, gave a presentation entitled "Opportunities and Challenges in Cybersecurity" on Day 3 of the forum, where he highlighted the work APNIC is doing to assist with securing the Internet, including building capacity through training, and sharing tools such as RPKI and BCP 38 to mitigate cyber attacks.
  • Adli also met with the Director General and Secretary of the Legal, Information and Administration Department of the Communications Regulatory Commission of Mongolia, Dr Naranmandakh Tumen-Ulzii, to discuss opportunities to work together in the future.
